On November 30, 2005 Rick Munarriz of The Motley Fool posed the question of which represented a better investment: a share of Google or an ounce of gold. Thomas Sewell also stated, "To take an extreme example, while a dollar invested in bonds in 1801 would be worth nearly a thousand dollars by 1998, a dollar invested in stocks that same year would be worth more than half a million dollars. All this is in real terms, taking inflation into account. Meanwhile, a dollar invested in gold in 1801 would by 1998 be worth just 78 cents."

That will probably keep you thinking. I will always go for stocks though.

Great point on saving money while taking a green approach. Too many people don't spend the time trying to figure out green solutions. The cost benefit should be enough to make it a priority.

I totally agree (did I just say that). I must really be getting it. Coming from the mindset of "do-it-yourself", it's only of late that I've become ok with the idea of letting the plumber take care of the leak under my kitchen sink. In other words, I do what I do best an let the Professionals take care of the rest. This shift has given me a confidence in knowing that the leak under my kitchen sink is going to be taken of (hopefully) and one less thing to be concerned about. I added more hours to my day and I'm able to shift my focus on things I actually enjoy doing (fixing leak, definitely not my thing). Great points!

Zoe:
I can certainly appreciate your frustration -- I'd strongly recommend you pursue getting the sites shut down, and their links to these testimonial pages removed from the search engines. Good luck!

Content theft is unfortunately rife. I have been in the web design business for more than a decade and in that time I have had entire sites stolen, pages and pages of copy but the latest round of theft takes the biscuit. A staggering 22 companies feel it is OK to steal my client testimonials and use them as their own.

I am in the process of getting this mess sorted out but it is time consuming and irritating.
To "out" their unethical, dishonest and criminal actions I have created a Wall of Shame. (link removed by admin)

It's true that a good presence in social media websites is becoming one of the most effective and affordable SEO practices. You need not spend a huge amount of money but because of the immense popularity of social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, you are bound to be in touch with the right target market for your business.
